10 Favourites of January

Hello Humans.

January is over and with that, let's start a new series on this blog

Ladies and gentlemen let me introduce :
At the start of every new month, I'll share 10 lovely things I've bought, seen, listened to or experienced during the previous month. And to kick this series of, I'm gonna share my 10 favourites of January.

1. Max-factor colour elixir lipsticks

Even though these beauties haven't been in my possession for very long, they have already become my favourite lipsticks of all time! Are there any ladies out there with full lips like mine? Well then you probably also know one of the struggles of having big lips: THEY DRY UP LIKE NOBODIES BUSINESS! Especially in the wintertime. No matter how much lip balm you put underneath your lipstick, 30 minutes outside and your lips look like those dry patches of dirt in the dessert. No one wants that! I found these two on sale and thought I'd give them a go and they are amazing! They are soo moisturizing that you don't even need to put a lip balm underneath. I love them and so does my lips.

I have the shades:
720 Scarlet Ghost
711 Midnight Mauve

For the first time ever I had a new years party without my parents. My roomate and I had invited a few girlfriends over and we had a blast. One of my friends introduced me to this song and now everytime I listen to it, i remember all the fun we had that night. Also the song is hilarious and so random and really cheers me up. So if you have a soft spot for weird 80's music like me, you should give it a listen.

3. The Perfect Pair of Trousers

"I have a biiig butt and I cannot lie!" (if you did not sing that, you must be an alien).
I hate finding trousers, because nothing ever fits right, I have a big butt and a small waist, so if they fit around my bum, they do not fit around my waist and visa versa. Finding a pair of trouser that actually fits right is like christmas all over again. I found such a pair and not only did i find the perfect pair of trousers - they were also ON SALE. There really is a God after all.

4. The Seventh Son

Last Sunday in a fit of boredom, I went to the cinema with my little sister and I'm glad I did. I didn't know much about the movie, but from the small part i read on the cinemas website, it reminded of I book I had read around the age of 9 called "The spooks apprentices" and I loved the book and was excited to see if it had any connection. It did and i was pleasantly surprised. I also helped that they had Ben Barnes playing the main part - I've had a crush on him every since Narnia: Prince Caspian. So if your are looking for something to watch, i would recommend this.

5 .Bob The Blender

Okay. So I found this blender on sale and it has changed a lot of my eating habits. I've never owned a blender before, so I didn't know what the fuzz was about - but after getting one, I don't know how to live without it. Smoothies have become a stable in my diet and soups are 10 times faster to make. I've grown so attached, that I've named him Bob. Don't judge me please.

6. Snow

I'm totally a winter person and the snow started falling here in Denmark about two weeks ago and it's gorgeous outside,

7.  Little sisters 17th birthday

My little sister turned 17 in the beginning of January and it really got me all nostalgic. 17 was a big year for me and seeing her turn 17 really opened my eyes to how quickly time goes by and I'll admit, it made me tear up a bit.

8. Jamie Olivers overnight bircher museli

On my "feel better" quest this year I've been looking for healthy yet easy recipes for everyday meals. Cooking something fancy and complicated every day when you work  almost 40 hours a week is just not possible. This recipe is DELICIOUS and soo easy. You prepare it the night before and it stay good for days! It leaves me feeling full, fresh and ready to start my day. It has become a stable in my diet.

9. Pigs feet and ladybugs

In case you didn't know, I'm danish and I work in a daycare. With such a job, you get a lot of special little moments. In Denmark, when shoes are put on the wrong way, you call it pigs feet. I don't have any clue as to why we call it that. We just do. While helping all the kids getting dressed for going outside to play in the snow, a girl called my name to show me her new pink winter boots with ladybugs printed all over them. I looked over to see them and said: "Yearh they are very pretty, but that's pigsfeet" because her shoes were on the wrong way. She then looked over at me very insulted and sayid: "IT IS NOOOT! IT'S LADYBUGS!"
This little memory still makes me chuckle a bit.

10. Ombré

Can we just all take a moment to appreciate how amazing you feel, when you get that new risky haircolour or haircut and it looks AMAZING? I have done a lot of crazy things with my hair over the years and my hair needed a vacation. For about two years I've dyed it blond every 2 months and my hair was not happy about it. So I decided to ombré it! I kept the blond in ends and dyed the roots to match my natural haircolour. My hair is taking a well deserved holliday and i think it looks amazing.
(pictures coming soon, promise!)

I can't wait for February! It holds a lot of promise.

New year, old me.

Hello humans

Do you live under a rock? Well if that's not the case, you've probably heard or seen the phrase: "New year, new me" at some point on social media in January.

Every year in January phrases like that will pop up everywhere making you fall in love with the idea of a bright and exciting new year and encourage people all around to change their ways. And last year.. Well, i fell for it. A lot of things changed for me in 2014. I quit a job i loved to get an education i thought i wanted and it was new and scary, but i was positive and certain that as long as i stayed that way, the new me would eventually thrive. But sadly, that's not always the way things work out.

I tried. I worked so hard to be the new me and convince myself that what i was doing was right, despite the blinking red lights inside.

As you might have guessed, It didn't work out and I lost myself in the process.

Things ended on a good note though, when i got my old job back in November and things are off to a good start i 2015.

Soo this year there is no new me. This year i wanna get back to old me and get comfortable with being her again.
That being said, i still have some resolutions and goals i would like to achieve this year:

Write one blog-post a month

I've wanted to do write a post so many times, but haven't because I've been too scared. But no more of that! One post a month is a must, but if i feel like it, i might post some more.

Do what makes ME feel good

It doesn't matter if it's choosing the salad instead of the fries or eating that piece of chocolate you've been craving all day. It's all about doing what makes ME feel good.

Don't say what's on your mind

Someone brought to my attention that I'd started to get quite a habit of criticizing myself out loud. A habit I do not wanna bring into the new year. I saw a documentary on body image that said, that not saying the bad things you think of yourself out loud, makes you gradually stop thinking them - so consider this my own little experiment in the name of self esteem and science of course!

Youtube

Every since I saw my first youtube video years ago I've wanted to make videos of my own. But the thing is, i never really had the courage to do it and the list of excuses are endless! But this year my goal is to get that started!

So tell me - what are your goals or resolutions this year? And what experinces do you have with new years resolutions? Tell me and maybe I'll ad another one to my list :)

All the love, Panda.
